It was in the summer of 2012 that I arrived in Queen City, with 28 pairs of shoes and an open heart. Believe it or not, it was love at first sight.

And why shouldn’t it be? For this city has a big, beating heart and a warm embrace.

Where ever I went, I met amazing people, friendly people, hard-working people, unpretentious people. When I looked around, I found myself surrounded by the city’s regalia from the past- the souvenir from Pan-American Exposition in Electric Tower, the genius of Frank Lloyd Wright in the Darwin Martin House, the vision of Sullivan in the intricacies of the Guaranty Building. When I went to a local eatery, I was greeted with a warm smile and gracious thanks for supporting small businesses. When I came across Hello Hertel, and sent the authors an email about contributing to their blog, I found myself chatting with them over a cup of coffee, sharing the stories of our mutual Buffalove.

I fell for Hertel when a friend took me to Spot. Call it the warmth of their fireplace on a chilly fall evening, or the marquee of North Park Theater, the pasta fagioli at Romeo and Juliet’s, or fish fry Fridays at Wellington, I moved to a beautiful townhouse on North Park the first chance I got.

Two years later, I am a Buffalonian. Actually, a proud Buffalonian.

Yes, I have a favorite wings place. I have more Bills and Sabres clothes than Abercrombie and Fitch. And in true Buffalo fashion, I cringe every time I shovel my driveway or brush the snow off my car.

Curious for more? I am an Electrical Engineer, but my interest lies in number crunching. I am juggling grad school with a job, but I can finally see some light at the end of tunnel as I am graduating this May. Boring work stuff aside, I love cooking, traveling and shopping (of course). If I had my way, I would be cooking pasta from scratch and drinking red wine somewhere in Italy right now!
